SL slicker than a snake

Alright so the new 2013 SL has finally come out and may I just say, "Its one sexy beast." Although I did like the previous model better, this new replacement adds a lighter frame and besides the stupid headlight daytime lights, looks really good. The car is powered by a V8 Twin turbo, producing approximately 429hp "efficiently"; 7 speed automatic with variable modes, and ever popular paddle shifter.

The options offered on this ride are really great. The various wheel options, with the 18'' 5 spoke blades or the 19'' AMG option being my favorites. The interior looks well crafted as always for Benzo'z; black and red always go well together; and if your paying six figures you might as well go for a $900 premium leather interior. It sort of looks like a airplane cockpit with the air inlets looking very jet engine like if I may say. Really cool options that I would have to say blew my mind were the ever famous Bang and Olufsen stereo--I would personally not spend $6400 for a car stereo--and the Magic Sky control. If you haven't heard of the latter than please search it; its an option that keeps Merc. in the front line of innovative luxury & performance cars.

The one thing that irritated me the most is one accessory that I would feel stupid for wasting money on it. I swear this option could pay for gas instead of being wasted. You would probably regret buying it over the six figure price you paid for the car. Its so small that you might even lose it one day or even walk into a convenience store and find it on sale for half the price and four times the size. This option is a "exclusive" Mercedes-Benz 2 GB SD card, with a price tag of $49.00 USD. Out of all the options its hard to say this one stuck in my head for a while. Otherwise check it out I think its a really excellent car (if they take out the stupid daytime lights) and can't wait for the AMG model. Check out this trailer with other sick options! Douche bag driver Black list

So recently I've been pissed off on some drivers either cutting me off or thinking that I'm taking my sweet ass time on the slow lane that they have to ride my ass. These drivers are in certain cars and I always happen to get raped from the behind or cut off by the same ass cars. Because of these douche bag idiot drivers I've made my list, where some cars/manufacturers that I didn't want to have landed on the list:

#1 Pontiac Gran-Prix or Grand AM

#2 Volkswagen Passat, Jettas, and GTI golfs

#3 Audi

#4 Chevy trucks and SUV's

#5 KIA

#6 Subaru Outback's

#7 American Mini Van's (specifically Chryslers)

So if your from the Twin Cities area look out for these douches......

New VIDS soon

So I got a good response from my 3-series video, I've been trying to find time to work on the two vids I want to make with my actual footage; which will be featuring the 5 series (E39 and F10) and a Z33 (Fairlady Z) video.

For anyone who streams through the blog, look out for it around March!

I got 5 different series, but H. Potter ain't one!

Saw a really cool looking 5-series today, even though the E60 wasn't my favorite (besides the M package and M5) it still does its job well. I also put another pic I saw of one power sliding put up on the Farmofminds Facebook page.

350z vs 370z

So, I'm not going to lie--whoever is out their reading my entries--but I've been slacking too much especially with my final year in my undergrad. I'll definitely try to be more recent and update the site on what issues in motor-sports seem  interesting (to me).

I recently purchased a 06' 350z, it was so unexpected and I didn't think I would be getting one so soon. Anyways here in the Twin Cities you see a variety of cars, but most super cars you'll see are porches, R-type Audi's,  NSX, and Bentlys--I might be missing some--since in MN not a lot of high rollers live here. You can get the occasional Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin and all those cool super cars (especially in downtown or suburbs), but mostly you'll see these types on the street. However I've noticed nicely modded RX-7's, Supra's, (1) R33 GTR and others. I recently saw a 370z with an Amuse kit and it just looked incredible, but I really don't like the look of it, to me it looked like a Super coupe version of the Maxima. Yes more power and better standards, but it still didn't do it for me.

Maybe i'm just acting a little senile but even though the 350z wasn't completely molded into a great machine until 2008 (HR engine) it was still something that was eye catching and different, but for the 370z something looks off every time I see it. Enough of my rambling, so I'm just going to put some comparisons, likes and dislikes of both cars.

2008 350z (Z33)

PWR: 306 HP VQ35HR
Torque: 269 ft-lb
Top Speed: 155+ mph
Price (current): 9K - $30,000
Valve Train: V6 3.5L
0-60: 4.9 sec

Good: Makes M3 owners + others get whip lash when they hear you roll by, loud/distinct exhaust note, reliable engine, great design, for the 08' model more standard features added making it the best Z, sharp handling, great looking and sounding nismo edition

Bad: Interior quality, trunk space (compared to competitors like S2K), road noise (not for me tho), stiff suspension, 2nd gear clutch engagement (for me). (Previous models 2003-2005 same engine was offered for some of the ininiti/nissan SUV line up, which brings some value down. 06' had same engine, but improved.)

2009+ 370z (Z34)

PWR: 331 HP VQ37HR
Torque: 270 ft-lb
Top Speed: 160+ mph
Price: 22K - $40,000
Valve Train: V6 3.7L
0-60: 4.5 sec

Good: Better interior, expanded trunk space, wider body, more standard features (unique key, rev-match, etc.), extraordinary look when tuned, quick response.

Bad: Uhh not as good looking as the Z33, Automatic makes a boring ride, No distinct sound note or anything distinct about it, poor nismo edition. I can't comment on drive ability since I've only driven one on a drag strip so feel free to let me know anything.

Ahhh, but they are both great cars.

Meta-Godzilla is being revived?!?

So I don't want to get myself excited but, yes the rumors are finally back and apparently going to be an official concept render around Dec. 3rd during the 42nd annual Tokyo motor show. The Toyota Supra aka Meta-Godzilla will be revived. This is what I've been waiting for and not the 20 some FT-86 concept models flying around auto shows. You can also see from the LFA and the FT-86 how many design elements resemble--in my eyes--the Toyota Supra.

I'm not going to get excited just yet since I've already been let down before by Toyota, but I'll keep my fire lit. Although I do think the chances of one of my all time favorite cars being revived is a very possible outcome since Nissan has been doing great with the GTR aka Godzilla, and its time for its formidable rival to come back.

Also look out for Honda, because they are most definitely in the works of the new Honda NSX after previous CEO Mr. Fukui stopped future plans of the car four years ago. And its about time for Japan to answer the call, because the GTR can't do it all.
